The Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) and Te Matapihi invites organisations and individuals with an interest or role in responding to homelessness to attend the launch of the “Responding to Homelessness in Aotearoa New Zealand” October 2017 edition of Parity Magazine.
Parity is a publication of the Victorian Council to Homeless Persons (CHP) and the national homelessness publication in Australia. The aim of this publication is to develop an up-to-date, comprehensive and detailed resource for all those working to respond to homelessness in Aotearoa, whether they are working in government policy, homelessness, mainstream government services, social housing and other welfare sectors, in universities or other research bodies.
The 2017 edition of Parity is intended as an update to the October 2007 “Responding to Homelessness in New Zealand” edition of Parity. The current edition is an opportunity to reflect on the past ten years. What have we learnt? How have we progressed? What new challenges have prevented themselves in the intervening years?
Te Matapihi are co-sponsors and co-editors for this issue. With homelessness very visibly and disproportionately affecting our people, this kaupapa is an important one to us. In recent years, the widening of definitions to include rural housing deprivation, and the critical (and high profile) role played by our marae has made this a priority issue for our organisation.
Please join us as we launch this special edition. There will be speaker presentations, and all attendees will receive a complimentary copy of the magazine. Light refreshments will be provided, no RSVP required.
Nau mai haere mai rā tatou katoa.
