What is cohousing?
Cohousing is an intentional community of clustered housing with common shared neighbourhood facilities. Each household has an independent, private home and backyard in addition to shared community space. Cohousing grows a strong sense of community, combats loneliness, builds natural support systems and mimics intergenerational family living. Every stage of development is focused on developing community relationships and strength. Residents are involved from the beginning of the builds and have strong input into what the shared facilities will be and how they will be used. Cohousing counters the isolation many experience today, regenerating practices of neighbourly support found in communities historically.
