Te Puea positioned to care for homeless again in 2017

Te Puea Marae spokesperson Hurimoana Dennis says the marae could open its doors again as Māngere families continue to struggle against the issue of homelessness. Dennis spearheaded the Manaaki Tangata programme which saw the marae open its door the most vulnerable, placing 130 families in homes. It comes hot on the heels of PM Bill English’s decision to get rid of a standalone housing portfolio.
