Well Homes is a housing coordination service working in Capital and Coast (CCDHB) and Hutt Valley District Health Board (HVDHB) areas. Tu Kotahi Māori Asthma Trust, Sustainability Trust, He Kāinga Oranga, and Regional Public Health form a partnership delivering this housing programme.

Our housing nurses visit homes and provide a housing assessment, which includes:

  • checking insulation, 
  • heating, 
  • damp and mould, 
  • ventilation, 
  • sleeping arrangements, 
  • general housing condition, 
  • winter indoor temperature, 
  • and any other health, housing and social concerns.  

The person in this role will also maintain the Well Homes connection with the DHBs and with key stakeholders.  Good relationship management, influencing and presentation skills are essential.

To be considered for this role you need to be a registered nurse, energetic and passionate about reducing health inequities, particularly for Māori and Pacific people and confident working directly with whānau/aiga in their homes.
