Māori Homelessness: Basic Statistics

Using census data and administrative data from emergency housing providers, this article presents key Māōri homelessness (or 'severe housing deprivation') statistics. With the help of other researchers, Statistics New Zealand and many community agencies, Amore has produced national prevalence or 'snapshot' statistics for 2001, 2006, and 2013.
