ABOUT EVENT

This symposium extends the purview from the inspiring work being done at Te Puea Memorial Marae to manaaki homeless whānau, to include other innovative housing developments in marae throughout Tāmaki Makaurau.

In particular, this symposium features the marae-based housing typologies designs, and shares the expertise of Māori housing expert Wayne Knox, Māori planning expert Lena Henry and Māori financial planning expert Leisa Nathan.

As well as keynote speaker Hurimoana Dennis (Marae Lead of the Manaaki Tangata Programme and Chairperson Te Puea Memorial Marae), we have a panel of Hawaiian housing change agents to share their innovations, success and challenges too.

This symposium also features a short digital story about Te Manaaki o te Marae at Te Puea Memorial Marae and is an opportunity to view the marae based housing designs exhibition.
